NEXUS Beliefs On The Seven Mountains
In 1975, Bill Bright, the founders of Campus Crusade (Bill Bright) and Youth With a Mission (Loren Cunningham), separately received a revelation from God, through a dream, regarding the Seven Mountains message. The call was to bring Godly change to a nation by reaching its seven spheres, or mountains, of societal influence.

They concluded that in order to transform any nation, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the seven facets of society must be reached. For the sake of organization, NEXUS has chosen the following seven mountain categories; Religion, Business, Education, Government, Media, Arts & Entertainment, and Family. Some people have slight variations of the mountain names but the concepts remain the same.

Bringing awareness of this message to Christians is a way to encourage them to do more than just reside within the four walls of their Church or their home. It is a way to take the light of Christ and engage in society to serve God’s purposes.

Some proponents of the Seven Mountain Message believe in a dominion approach of conquering people. We do not. Our goal is not to be Christians “conquering” non-Christians. In fact, you don’t have to be a Christian to be a part of NEXUS and the hope is what we achieve benefits all.

From a Biblical perspective, we have provided many Biblical examples of God’s people within the Seven Mountains. To see these examples, please visit the NEXUS APP folder titled ‘7 Mountains Overview.’
